A renowned global consumer electronics company asked our team to dream about smart mirrors. Our brief was to consider how this type of product could lend itself to serving a transitional space such as a foyer or home entryway. We explored a variety of form factors and executions ranging from more etherial and ambient content to designs that could supplement the company’s existing display products. We created multiple functional prototypes including a piece that was installed in the company’s innovation center located at their global headquarters. 

The client had a large focus on manufacturing cost and production feasibility. For this reason, their stakeholders wanted to explore a concept that could utilize their existing manufactured television. Kaleidoscope is designed to be a component that can be attached to an out of the box television.
