XR Gallery invites museum patrons to experience works of art and physical artifacts through a new lens. With XR headsets, you can unlock deeper connections with exhibit pieces. Your presence, gaze, and touch reveal new layers of information.

At Home Experience

XR Gallery transforms your space into a museum, populating your walls with vibrant works of art. Simply look at the walls around you and paintings will appear. Gazing at a work of art reveals details about the piece.

Using planes detection, the app automatically identifies viable walls in your space. When you look at the walls around you, you will see a visual pattern appear on the detected wall planes. Art will automatically appear on your walls, sized to fit your space. Frames are dynamically generated to fit each piece of art's unique aspect ratio. All works of art in the experience are pulled live from the Cleveland Museum of Art’s open API.

Gaze is used as the primary interaction mechanism in the experience. When you gaze at an art piece, the art floats off of the wall coming slightly closer to you. The title, artist and date appear next to the art along with another gaze trigger. Looking at the gaze trigger activates a detail view. In the detail view, the art becomes larger, the frame is hidden, and a did you know fact card appears.
